Darrell Tunningley

ISBN: 9781852405892

“Darrell Tunningley’s story of transformation from armed robber to church minister is inspiring. Following a powerful encounter with Jesus Christ in his prison cell, Darrell at once began to be used by God to bring transformation to others. This is a fascinating book and I hope that thousands of people will find hope and meaning in their lives through reading it.”
Reverend Nicky Gumbel
Holy Trinity Brompton

“This thoroughly honest, authentic and inspiring book tells a death-to-life story that powerfully demonstrates that no one is beyond the love of God. For all of us who question the value, meaning and purpose of our lives, Darrell’s story brings great encouragement and enduring hope. Lost in a world of drugs and violence, God broke into his life in prison and changed everything. His testimony invites each of us to demonstrate the saving love of Jesus by following him unreservedly, wholeheartedly, 24/7. Only in this way, as Darrell has found, do we learn to live life to the fullest.”
Matthew Frost
Chief Executive of Tearfund

Unreachable is an amazing story of how a young man, whilst an addict to drugs and serving a sentence for armed robbery had an encounter with God. Darrell after attending an Alpha course and becoming a Christian had his life turned upside down.
Darrell, now part of the senior leadership at Hope Corner Community Church, has dedicated his life to showing and sharing the love of Christ in his community by bringing hope to the marginalized, the vulnerable and the lost. His story of redemption brings hope and life to the young people he is working with. He is able to speak into their lives as he has been where they have been.
Encouraging yet challenging, this remarkable story of God’s Love shows that it is never too late to change the direction of your life.
Reverend Paul Cowley
Executive Director of Caring for Ex -Offenders and the William Wilberforce Trust

“It is always good to be able to recommend a book in which the author is not just writing from a “head knowledge”, but is a proven practioner in the areas of which he writes. Darrell is such a person, and I therefore have no hesitation in endorsing this book.”
John Partington
National Leader of Assemblies of God GB

His church are currently building a new centre to house the growing project and congregation. Of the purpose of the book, Darrell writes:

I am aware that there are many books about Gods saving grace but the aim of this book is not just a testimony. The aim is to mobilise the church as well as be an evangelistic tool for the church. My book gives a very frank insight to a world that is closed to most believers and offers a way out to those who are lost in that world. As someone that has put the principles of community mission into action over the last 10 years, I feel God has placed me in a position of equipping others.

I read the whole book in one day. I couldn't put it down. God really turned Darrell's life around in a dramatic way and reading his story has given me hope, inspiration and determination in my walk with God despite being a Christian for 34 years already!

Highly recommended reading if you want to be encouraged! (Posted on 07/10/2016)

This is nothing short of incredibleReview by Paul
The man's life was going down the toilet, he had anger and hatred flowing through his veins. As hardened criminal as you will meet. Yet something amazing, some may say supernatural happened to him overnight in that cell, as hard as some may find that to comprehend. Please read this with an open mind, be open to the power of the unseen. Trust me you will be inspired. (Posted on 07/10/2016)

an eye opening storyReview by mrs thelma wade
Bought this book after hearing Darrell speak at the launch of an Alpha course in Rugby and could not put it down. Its an eye opening story of what is going on in Britain today, the good and the bad. Of how easy it is for lives to spin out of control, but no matter how bad and how lost someone appears, God's transforming love can cut through where every other method of reaching the person seems useless.

So when you wander around the streets of your home town look at the young people, not as they appear, but as potential 'Darrell's' who can go on to make a real difference, with God's help and guidance.

Also read it and enjoy how God has chosen, on the face of it, such a strange choice of person to bring His word and practical help to the people in one corner of Runcorn. This book will inspire and re-invigorate your desire to carry the Message to whoever you meet and wherever you are. (Posted on 07/10/2016)
A book that gives hopeReview by Florence
Bought as a gift for someone in difficult times. A book that gives hope to those who think they have taken a dangerous road too far away from the straight and narrow. No-one is unreachable by their Creator! (Posted on 07/10/2016)
true transformationReview by Louise Dobson
I liked that Darrell was won over by the elderly nuns as he tried to answer back rudely. It is a true transformation he undergoes, from a hardened criminal in gaol, to a Minister helping youth.

I think all boys who have been in trouble with their school or other authorities e.g. the police, would gain greatly by reading this short book. (Posted on 07/10/2016)

Couldn't put it downReview by Debbie
Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. It is so easy to read and I finished it in one night. Knowing that it is a true story made it all the more interesting and gripping. It is written so honestly warts and all. I have met Darrell Tunningly within the last 6 months and he is so down to earth and sincere with a great sense of humour. (Posted on 07/10/2016)
one of the most incredible Christian testimoniesReview by Sheila
This is one of the most incredible Christian testimonies I've ever read of how a young man's life is turned around by meeting God in prison through an Alpha course. It's only a short story and very easy reading. (Posted on 07/10/2016)

one of the most inspiring testimonies of how God can change ANYONEReview by Customer
Unreachable is possibly one of the most inspiring testimonies of how God can change ANYONE and bring anyone to Him, no matter their past or present life circumstances.

I would recommend everyone to read this book (christian AND non-christian), Darrell's honesty about his life and feelings are a wonderful change from many books sold today, and his story is astounding, wonderful and engagingly written! (i finished it in 2 hours i was that enthralled!)

I was originally given this book by my pastor (i think it may have been one of the early releases) when one of my best friends (a non christian) was sent to prison for 2 years... I had started to feel extremely upset with God's (in my eyes) seeming slowness. This book truly turned all of that around!

It showed me that even the smallest of people, talking honestly about the gospel and Jesus, with God's help, can make an astounding difference in people's lives and give them a gift they can treasure for eternety, a real and life altering relationship with God!

This book was an awesome eye opener and exciting to see how God can make himself known to seemingly the most 'unreachable' of people. I have given it to friends and family both christian and non christian and everyone has said how amazing this story is. (Posted on 07/10/2016)
Life changing!Review by Mr. M. S. Blewitt

A Truly Inspirational Story - Should be compulsory reading in all Prisons Review by Michael Cronogue
Darrell Tunningley's amazing journey from hardened criminal to community pastor is one of the most inspirational books I have read in a long time.

His description of his former life with violence never far below the surface, is both compelling and disturbing; yet his finding of Jesus is told with touching humility as well as humour.

Only in a Britain could a life-changing moment begin over a cuppa and a few biscuits! (Posted on 12/10/2011)
If you only read one book this year...Review by Ricketrescuer
Unreachable is the remarkable testimony of Darell Tunningley's life. The work of Jesus causing a total u-turn in his life is described here in a compelling narrative that is easy to read.

If you think your life isn't worth anything and no one cares, read this and think again.

If you want to learn more about how to reach people and tell them about the wonder of Jesus, our Saviour, then read this book and use it.

There aren't many books I read in one sitting. This, though I literally couldn't put down. It was in the post when I got home from work, I decided to read the first chapter and before I knew it I'd read the whole thing.

If you only read one book this year, make this the one. (Posted on 12/10/2011)
