Marcel Rebiai

ISBN: 9781852408046 [376 pages]

Marcel Rebiai writes with clear biblical understanding and a wealth of experience born of living in a crucible of human conflict and interacting pastorally with people of many walks of life. To See God is not a comfortable read. Rebiai’s urgency for all Christians to face Jesus’ call to discipleship, cross-bearing, community and mission is at times provocative, but his delivery is warm, as a spiritual father.

Highly recommended to any believer who aches over the state of our world and is ready to pay the price to be part of God’s solution.

About The Author

About The Author

Marcel Rebiai was born in Algeria in 1953 but grew up in Switzerland after being orphaned by war. In his youth, he had a profound encounter with Jesus and has since been passionately involved as a disciple of Jesus, in building up His church. He is the founder and visionary of the Community of Reconciliation (Gemeinschaft der Versöhnung), a Christian organisation with roots in Switzerland, which presents God’s reconciling love to both Jews and Arabs in the Middle East. In addition to this, he also promotes unity in the body of Christ in the Middle East and internationally, so that the world may know Jesus.

Book Review

Book Review

"This devotional book is like a pack of multi-vitamins: It strengthens, builds you up, and is also a handbook on discipleship. Marcel Rebai draws from a virtually inexhaustible wealth of community living, and from a Kingdom orientated viewpoint, which spreads across all nationalities and cultures. He is a man bedded in the body of Christ, who knows no fear of men.”

"This book truly brings to us daily manna from heaven -- from the Word and Spirit who feed us in Jesus' name -- in very spiritual and practical ways. It is written for 'real people', not saints...yet as these insights are taken to heart and lived out, one might 'accidentally' become a saint after the year is finished! All will be blessed who chew upon this 'bread'!"

“This is a Devotional from the heart of God to the heart of men. Marcel Rebiai a great teacher with a North African and European background, friend of Christians, Jews and Muslims alike is sharing the heart of God for people, opening up scriptures in his own unique way, considering the Desert Fathers and Men and Women of God of all times. It is so inspiring and encouraging to read, it feeds the love for the Word of God and the reign of God in each individual’s life. His suggestions do not stop with suggestions for individual application, he shows a deep understanding of a God who is the author of all true community. My heart is leaping when reading the Devotional and inspired to follow Marcel’s suggestions.”

“Marcel Rebiai writes with clear biblical understanding and a wealth of experience born of living in a crucible of human conflict and interacting pastorally with people of many kinds. [Title - “Looking to God” , “Looking on God” , “Seeing God”?] is not a comfortable read. Rebiai’s urgency for all Christians to face Jesus’ call to discipleship, cross-bearing, community and mission is at times provocative but his delivery is warm, as a spiritual father. I commend this book to any believer who aches over the state of our world and is ready to pay the price to be part of God’s solution.“

“To write a book of daily devotions encouraging his readers to enter the presence of God requires experience of the same. I have known Marcel for nearly 20 years; written about his unusual life story; talked to members of the Community of Reconciliation based in Jerusalem and talked to others who respect and value Marcel’s work. Marcel and his wife Regula have stayed with us at our home in England so we can truly say we know them and respect and love them dearly. I can also confirm that Marcel knows God. He is a man of prayer, spending hours each day in the presence of the Lord. He is a man who goes away alone for long periods of time (weeks at a time) just to spend time with the Lord and hear His voice. He is therefore a man who knows how to come into the presence of the Father and sit at His feet and be with Him. I commend this book for its truthfulness, its practical simplicity and its encouragement because it is written from years of experience of being in the presence of the Lord and with a heartfelt desire to bring others along too.”
