A new secular world is gradually consigning Christianity to the level of myth and has rejected the authority of scripture that once stood harmoniously with science and society. Mankind is replacing God with its own clever fables that are destined to fall.
This book turns the tables against Christianity’s old and modern critics, and reasserts the veracity of Scripture in the face of this onslaught from the ranks of science, secularism and humanism. From ancient Greek thinkers to Darwin and Freud, the author brilliantly unmasks the weak science and philosophies that have been repeatedly peddled to usurp God from the new world we live in.
The book will give assurance to those whose doubts are being played on by the fables taught by the World. It serves as a warning to the Church to not deviate from its core beliefs. With a clean style and robust content the author inspires the reader to reaffirm our belief that the Bible is absolute truth.
Arthur Green served in the British Army for 15 years, and came to faith together with his wife through their local Baptist Church in the early 90's. Arthur has worked in business and set up his own consultancy company in 1996, which he still operates together with his work as the CEO of Breakthrough to People Network in Georgia, USA. Arthur also co-ordinates the work of a small UK-based charity which provides development for educational facilities in India.
Arthur spent time as a development worker in the Middle East and Europe, followed by some years working as a humanitarian worker in the Sudan and other countries. The author's witnessing the fall of Communism, the suffering of people of many ideologies and religions under natural or man-made disasters, and the aftermath of wars produced a soul-searching examination of Arthur's Christian faith. The emptiness of life in the West which removed a sense of destiny from so many people in Western nations has been accompanied by a rising tide of violence and moral degeneration. 'When Fables Fall' is an exposition of the decline of Christianity in the West, which has been the source of so many freedoms we now take for granted.
There are some people who stretch you spiritually through their thinking and expressions of faith: Arthur Green is one of them. This book will make you rethink the basics of our faith to apply them in your life in new ways. He restates key areas of faith in Jesus Christ which should be a challenge to churches in the twenty-first century.

An excellent book which is both detailed and accessible. Comment made by Dr Steve Wright

I have been a Christian for more than 35 years and am also a qualified engineer and scientist. I have never had any problems reconciling my faith with my studies, I find that the truth of the scriptures stands up to all forms of honest enquiry and have never come across a genuine scientific discovery that has conflicted with a biblical world view.
What I have encountered is a coercive humanistic, sometimes atheistic, scientific establishment that seeks to avoid facing up to the weaknesses of some of its most cherished arguments and hopes to exercise control over research and academic thought.
It was a delight to find a book where these issues were reasoned out from an historical and theological point of view. I agree with the book’s central hypothesis, that much of modern science is based on an assortment of fables that can’t stand much longer against the tide of contrary evidence. It behoves the body of Christ to make sure its own beliefs about the world are based on something more substantial and to be ready to fill the void that will be left when man’s present ‘wisdom’ finally crumbles away. If we fail to rise to this challenge then the void will be filled by another of Satan’s deceptions and we’ll be no further forward. (Posted on 20/04/2012)
