Position: COPY EDITOR
Starting salary: Up to £14,000 per annum, depending on experience
Sovereign World Ltd, a well respected Christian book publishing company, is currently seeking an experienced full-time in house Copy Editor. We principally require a person with a keen interest in Christian teaching who can review and edit manuscript material submitted by an author. Such editing has the goal of correcting grammar irregularities and inconsistencies and of correcting punctuation, spelling, usage, structure and style. The work, which will be based near Lancaster, will involve liaising with our authors so excellent communication and computer skills are essential. The work will also involve copy writing for our ongoing marketing, advertising and website requirements. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who wants to be at the sharp end of the Christian publishing industry and is able to work to tight deadlines.

You are invited to hear Frida’s dramatic story of life amid the horror of genocide, and how she was utterly transformed by the power to forgive and love her enemies.
Frida witnessed her family being massacred by Hutu men with machetes and was then asked how she wanted to die. She could not afford a bullet, which they offered to sell her, so instead received what should have been a fatal blow to the head. She was put in a mass grave with her slaughtered family only to find herself still alive and conscious. She eventually climbed out of the pit covered in filth and blood. Frida will not forget her traumas, but the healing God brought is miraculous. Today this young woman has an important message for the world.

Prospective new authors who want to submit their manuscripts to Sovereign World for review can now do so via our new online upload facility. We are encouraging everyone who wants to submit their work to Sovereign World to use this facility, filling in related marketing information which helps us make a more informed decision about what we publish.
The new system gives Sovereign a centralised space where all new manuscripts are submitted, together with the information we need. We trust this will make our response times to authors more efficient and helps the author to know exactly how to make a submission to us.

Chris and Jan Mungeam, the founding directors of Sovereign World Ltd and the Trustees of The Christian Trust (the Registered Charity operating as Ellel Ministries International) are delighted to announce that terms have now been agreed for the acquisition of Sovereign World Ltd by The Christian Trust. The acquisition date has been fixed for the 7th April.
This exciting new development will be mutually advantageous, providing Sovereign World and its authors with a new world-wide sales network through Ellel Ministries International and providing Ellel Ministries with a solid foundation for the publication of a developing list of books on aspects of Christian Discipleship and Healing.
Ellel Ministries International is committed to the same Biblical ethos which has hallmarked Sovereign World Ltd as a mission organisation serving the local Church worldwide.
Chris Mungeam will be remaining with Sovereign World Ltd as a Consultant for an initial period of three years. In this capacity he will work closely alongside those to be appointed to run Sovereign World, advise and encourage the new owners in the development of the company and provide a reliable bridge for the company to continue and develop strongly for forthcoming generations. Chris will also continue to maintain his existing relationships with Sovereign World authors, ensuring that their interests continue to be well looked after, thus providing reliable continuity for the company in the transition period of new ownership and company development.
Book Trade distribution arrangements are expected to remain as they are, at least for a twelve month period, with New Wine Ministries continuing to represent Sovereign World to the UK book trade. Customer direct sales, both through mailings and the website will, in future, be fulfilled by the direct mail department of Ellel Ministries.
Sovereign World Ltd and Ellel Ministries have been closely associated with each other since the foundation of both works in 1986. Chris Mungeam and Peter Horrobin have known each other for over fifty years since their days together as members of the Young Peoples Fellowship at Cheam Baptist Church. In the early eighties Chris was the publishing link with Peter which resulted in Mission England Praise being published by Marshall Pickering and later as Mission Praise by Harper Collins Sovereign World published Peter's two-volume, standard reference work on Healing Through Deliverance which has remained continuously in print for well over a decade and is one of Sovereign World's best-selling titles. For the fifteen years prior to the establishment of Ellel Ministries Peter was himself a publisher, having founded and developed two successful publishing imprints.
Under the new ownership Sovereign World will continue to originate, promote and sell a wide range of publications supporting the vision statement of Sovereign World Ltd, as a publisher whose mission is to produce and distribute around the world books that bring together Word and Spirit. Ellel Ministries is committed to providing literature which brings Scriptural understanding, and application for today's church, especially in the areas of discipleship and healing.
Ellel Ministries is delighted to be welcoming Sovereign World Ltd as part of the wider work of The Christian Trust and is looking forward to building on the wonderful foundation that has already been established by Sovereign World over twenty years of successful pioneering and publishing development. Ellel Ministries sees this development as a great opportunity for the two organisations to mutually bless and support each other and provide an excellent platform for expansion and growth as they take teaching and ministry to the nations in many different forms. Ellel Ministries is committed to taking Sovereign World into a new generation of publishing opportunities and technologies and will be appointing a gifted and reliable team to ensure the growth and development of the Company worldwide.
Sovereign World Trust will remain a separate charity under Jan Mungeam's direction. However, The Christian Trust is committed to its ongoing support and encouragement. The Trust was established by Jan, also in 1986, as a registered charity, with a mission to distribute free or very low priced Christian literature to those who cannot afford to buy books for themselves. Over the years millions of people have benefited from the work both in English and other language editions.
